Introduction:
This assignment requires students to analyze and synthesize evidence from published research related to adolescents’ suicide. The paper should include a clinical question, the significance of the problem, the purpose of the paper, and a data summary using an evidence matrix table template. Additionally, the paper should include a description of findings, a comparison of variables within each study, and identification of questions to guide future work. The conclusion should summarize the major findings and provide evidence to address the clinical problem, as well as make a connection back to all included sections. The paper should adhere to current APA formatting and guidelines.
Answer:
The purpose of this assignment is to help medical college students develop skills to analyze published research related to adolescents’ suicide. The paper will require students to use the Evidence Matrix Table Template to categorize items such as data summaries, references, purpose/hypothesis/study questions, variables independent (I) and dependent (D), study design, sample size and selection, data collection methods, and major findings (evidence). Students will also need to describe the data in the Evidence Matrix Table, including proper in-text citations and reference list entries for each article. Additionally, the assignment requires students to compare and contrast variables within each study, describe the research findings, and provide evidence to support the clinical problem. Finally, students will identify two questions to guide future work and summarize the major findings in a conclusion that provides evidence to address the clinical problem and makes a connection back to all included sections. The paper’s format will follow APA guidelines and include a title and reference page, use of headings for each section, and two scholarly, current primary sources (other than the textbook) within the last five years. The length of the paper should be three to four pages, excluding appendices, the title, and reference pages.
